Erwin man tasered after police chase
After two traffic stops, a police chase and the use of a taser, a husband and wife from Erwin are behind bars on drug charges.
Washington County, Tennessee sheriff Ed Graybeal says they'd been searching for 48-year-old David Yates since late October when officers tried to pull over Yates for a traffic violation, but he took off. They tried to catch him two more times and finally succeeded Thursday night after a brief chase.
Police say they had to taser him.
Yates is charges with two counts of evading arrest and promotion of meth manufacture.
Officers also arrested Yates' wife 48-year-old Tresa Yates, along with 39-year-old Brenda English after pulling over Tresa Yates on a minor traffic violation earlier in the week. Tresa Yates and English both face drug charges.
All three were taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
