Practice makes perfect and that's exactly what emergency responders were doing Wednesday morning in case a statewide disaster happens in the Tri-Cities.

News 5 stopped by a mock emergency headquarters at Bristol Motor Speedway. Wednesday's drill was centered around earthquake response.

At that headquarters firefighters, emergency responders, and even the Red Cross would come to check in, get briefed on the situation, then get directions to the areas that need help.

News 5 learned stations like this could be set up for two weeks. "Even post-event, if they need 20 or 30 power trucks, utility trucks, they would come here. If they're coming from outside, they would come here before they would go into the area," said Sullivan County Emergency Management Director Jim Bean.

News 5 also learned drills just like this were being practiced for the first time Wednesday in other cities around Tennessee.
