We've told you about a number of cars slipping and sliding across our region. But a local fire department tells us people have also been slipping on foot, and it's all thanks to Mother Nature.
Bristol, Tennessee firefighters say Thursday they responded to a number of 911 calls just from people slipping and getting hurt.
We've learned at least 16 calls can be directly related to the wintery weather.
Firefighters say there are some things you need to remember before heading outdoors. "As your steps or sidewalk refreeze, you can just take smaller steps, kind of shuffle your feet. Also try and wear a boot or shoe that has some tread on it," said Lieutenant Alan Howard.
Firefighters say the most common slips occur while people are getting in and out of their car.
