Nothing means more to soldiers stationed overseas than the comforts of home, especially at this time of year.
It's those simple little things that they miss the most. That fact was recognized by the management and employees of Eastman Chemical Company with a year-round campaign called 'Supplies for Soldiers.' It started four years ago by placing 38 barrels around the plant for donations.
Sarah Daly helped organize the program. "I guess it grew about three times the size from the first year to the second year and it just kept growing and growing. Last year i guess it got big enough that Eastman decided we want to be more a part of of it than we already are," she said.
Supplies for Soldiers is not just a Christmas campaign; the company collects items all year and sends them out at Christmas and the Fourth of July.
