A man accused of driving drunk didn’t do much to help his case when he urinated on a box of breath test tubes, according to police.

Ryan Scott Thompson, 26, is accused of smashing his car through a home near Christchurch, New Zealand, in late July, according to New Zealand’s Canterbury News. The newspaper reports he blew almost three times the legal limit during a breath test.

At the police station, an officer had his back turned to Thompson when he heard running water. Upon turning around, the officer found he was mistaken -- that noise was Thompson urinating into a box of screening tubes for the breath tests, according to the Canterbury News.

Police ended up destroying the 301 tubes, the paper reported. Thompson plead guilty to all charges and was ordered to pay emotional damages to the woman whose house he ran into, plus what translates to about $88 for the tainted tubes.
