SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

More passengers will be able to fly to and from the Tri-Cities Regional Aiport. Delta Airlines is bringing back a mainline flight.

News 5 learned nearly 130 seats will be added to the 7:30 morning flight, starting the beginning of September. The DC-9 aircraft will arrive back the same day at 9 p.m.

Tri-Cities Airport officials say as of right now, the bigger plane with more seats should not hurt flight schedules. "We're still scheduled for eight flights a day. Really it will just depend on how full those flights are as to what happens with the schedule," said Melissa Thomas with the airport.

We also learned one of the reasons for bringing back the mainline flight is because Delta is retiring or replacing their smaller 50-seat regional jets.
