Company recalls 38,000 pounds of sausage

Smithfield Packing Company is recalling 38,000 pounds of pork sausage because it may contain small pieces of plastic, likely from gloves.
The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall. The agency says the company discovered the problem after two consumer complaints.
The sausages were sold in 11 states, including North Carolina. Tennessee and Virginia were not on the list.
