For the first time Coalition for Kids wrapped up its fiscal year with more annual expenses than revenues.
Last year had record numbers with more than 400 kids attending at various locations.
The Coalition helps children with their schoolwork and even offers a warm meal in the evenings, all at little to no cost to the parents.
We learned that the Coalition runs off donations given by the community. But Executive Director Randy Hensley says that due to the economy, the donations are starting to slow down. "We will not let any kids that we've worked with, and we were averaging 405 out of 10 sites in Johnson City, we will not turn any of those away and we desire to address more than that," said Hensley.
