BRISTOL, Tenn. -

Day one for Bristol's new urgent care facility has been a busy one.

We learned since opening their doors this morning to the public, MedExpress on West State Street has seen a steady stream of patients, but doctors told us most of them are coming in to get a flu shot.

The clinic is offering free flu shots to the community for the first two weeks they're open, and plenty of people are taking advantage of it.

"Today being the first day, I didn't know what to expect, but working here and just in a couple of short hours seeing so many people turning out to get their flu shots makes a big impact so we're happy for that," said Dr. Nick Patel with MedExpress.

The last day to get a free flu shot at MedExpress is December 19.
