A local town has seen a boom in its business thanks to some new roads, restaurants and shops.
The Grundy Industrial Development Authority describes the changes in the town over the past couple months as drastic. The construction projects include the new four-lane leading into town that opened last week.
Cato and Rue 21 also recently opened.
The IDA says Walmart, which opened a little more than a year ago, has played a major role in bringing more businesses into town. "This isn't something you'd expect to see in Grundy," said Tim Potter, Town of Grundy IDA. "Ten or 15 years ago, you wouldn't have conceived or thought of it being like this."
A Taco Bell is scheduled to open in the next couple of weeks and the rest of the four-lane project should be finished by March or April 2013.
