There's no need to be alarmedĀ if you don't see the historic Bristol sign lighting up the sky during the next few days.
Utility crews from the twin cities spent Thursday morning changing the 15 hundred bulbs in the sign.
After Monday, October first, they will burn pink to help bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Steve Craddock, with Bristol Tennessee Essential Services says, "It will be off until Monday evening. It normally comes on every night when it gets dark but we're going to disable it today for a kick off celebration Monday night at 6:30 or 7 so we'll automatically turn it on for the celebration monday night."
Crews normally change all of the bulbs a couple of times a year, when large crowds are expected for events.
