CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. -

Carter County investigators are learning more about how two people were murdered in late June in the Hampton Creek area of Roan Mountain.

Sheriff Chris Mathes says the preliminary autopsy results show both were shot in the head at close range before their bodies were set on fire. The sheriff also says the findings show victim Joyce Brock could have still been alive when she was burned.

Brock and Glenn Shell were found dead inside a partially-burned garage on Hemlock Lane on Tuesday, June 26.

Investigators are still looking for information to lead them to a suspect.
