A fire in Jonesborough over the weekend is now being investigated as possible arson. It happened at a warehouse on Depot Street around 1:30 Sunday morning.

The facility was being used by the Furniture Depot to store furniture.

The building has no metered electricity and there was no reported lightning when the fire broke out.

The owner of the building received the call on Sunday afternoon. "They revealing to me that there had been a fire but just as importantly that there was a suspected arson,” property owner Mark Stapleton said. “I'm just kind of hanging on to see what the authorities discover."

Fire officials were not immediately available for on-camera comment.
