We have learned Bristol, TN officials are preparing for the busy highways by planning the best routes for travelers to take.

Bristol, TN traffic engineer, David Metzger, reminds drivers to not cross through the medians; because not only is it illegal, it will be extremely dangerous during race weekend.

"It is dangerous because sometimes the lanes on the other side is flowing northbound and sometimes its southbound and if it is not going the same direction as you, then that could result in unfortunate circumstances," said Metzger.
