BRISTOL, Tenn. -

Effects of the sequestration have hit close to home. We've learned an upcoming performance by the Air Force Rhythm In Blue Jazz Ensemble, scheduled this Tuesday at the Paramount, has been cancelled.

Executive Director for the Paramount Diane Dempsey tells us the band had to cancel because their touring budget has gone to zero since the forced budget cuts known as sequestration.

"You always worry about situations like the sequester, but we had no idea that it would trickle down into the arts this fast," added Dempsey.

She adds this concert was free because of a partnership with the Air Force and if funding becomes available for the ensemble, the theater will work to reschedule the performance.
