After-Christmas sales bring in shoppers
The day after Christmas traditionally brings a rush of people making returns, but that is not the only reason stores were packed Wednesday.
"If it's damaged or they got the wrong toy or their unhappy with the quality, they'll bring it back," said Target guest services attendant Jennifer Hickman.
One man we spoke with said it is a reoccurring tradition for his family. "We always have one or two items we have to bring back," said Carter Massengill.
Massengill told us his daughter opened her new bike for Christmas and was a little disappointed with what she saw. "We put it together and the front fork was a little bit bent," said Massengill.
However, Massengill was one of the few to bring in a return to Target. "We actually haven't had that many returns," said Hickman.
We asked several people if they were making any returns today and many of them said no. Many said they had gift cards, that way they could come in and get exactly what they wanted. "I got gift cards so I came in and bought my Kindle that I've been wanting," said shopper Tammie Hicks.
Hicks said the gift card was not the only reason she came in; she said the deals were too hard to pass up. "They're having a big sale today, like 75 percent off a lot of things," said Hicks.
While stores were packed, Hickman told us she expects it go only get worse over the next several days. “I'm thinking later on in the day once people start getting out and later in the week," she said.
