Active meth lab found near Sullivan County school
Two children were taken to the hospital and two adults are behind bars after police received a tip that meth was being made in their Sullivan County home.
When detectives arrived at the1639 Bristol Caverns Highway home they found numerous items used in the meth making process, as well as one lab that was still active.
"The fact that we found an active lab just makes the situation that much more dangerous," said Leslie Earhart, public information officer for the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
Since this was an active lab, both Brian Keith Reynolds and Holly Nicole Hillard had to be decontaminated. Both are facing multiple meth related charges...
And just feet from the home is Holston Valley Middle School. Earhart said, "You can see how close the school is; in this case it is Holston Valley Middle School. It was definitely a dangerous situation."
The two children, a two and five-year-old, were taken to a hospital but they are now in the custody of the Department of Children's Services.
