Royston Hearing Rescheduled

60-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder, Kidnapping And Rape

The preliminary hearing for a Sullivan County man charged with attempted first degree murder, kidnapping and rape was rescheduled.

60-year-old Johnny Royston appeared this morning in sessions court.

A 35-year-old woman told police she was tied up with a rope around her neck and was beaten and brutally raped.

Royston was released from prison 18 months ago after serving time for voluntary manslaughter and arson back in 1998.

He will be back in court September 14.
