People have been buzzing about "12/12/12," a date we won't see again in our lifetime. It's the last three-times repeating date we'll see until January 1, 2101.
News 5 caught up with a few people making Wednesday extra special.
Addison Marie Albert won't remember being born, but her birthday she'll never forget. This bundle of joy was made her entrance in the world on December 12, 2012, or 12/12/12.
Proud mom Victoria Albert said baby Addison made sure Wednesday was her big debut. "We actually came in [Tuesday] morning, so we were kind of hoping she'd be born yesterday. But she stuck it out. This is her original due date," said Victoria Albert.
It's also a special birthday shared by two sixth-grade friends we met at Haynesfield Elementary School in Bristol, Tennessee.
Breanna Reed said the number '12' is without a doubt her lucky number. "I'm turning 12 on 12/12/12, so it's kind of cool to think that this only happens once in a lifetime for me," Reed told News 5.
Aubrey McCray, also turning 12 on 12/12/12, and she said she finally gets some bragging rights. "My brother's birthday is on July 4, so they always think his birthday is cool. Then now they're saying 'I think you out-ruled him,'" said Aubrey McCray.
For those people who aren't born on December 12, some are hoping they might be able to buy their luck today with a lottery ticket. "I won $50 and hoping I'll win some more. [I] keep trying my luck!" Patrick Lane told News 5 as he bought a lottery ticket.
"I'm hoping 12-12-12 will be a lucky day, it being the holidays and all," said Rocky Wright, another lottery hopeful.
In fact, we learned both Virginia and Tennessee lotteries sold out of the 12-12 combination for their Pick Four midday drawings.
But others are betting on a lifetime of love for this unique day. Newlyweds Rick and Susan Matthews said a wedding day of December 12, 2012 was meant to be. "I think it's a unique day in history for one, but the reason we actually got married today; she actually dreamed we got married on 12/12/12," said Rick Matthews just moments after saying his vows.
While some may argue luck is on their side with an anniversary of 12's, this happy couple said they don't need it. "She's all the luck in the world I need," added Rick Matthews.
We learned of another special 12/12/12 delivery. We're told Isaiah Ledford Leonard was born on 12/12/12 at Lonesome Pine Hospital at 12:12 p.m. in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
He is the son of Heather and Clayton Leonard of Big Stone Gap.
