'Facebook murder' suspects in court Friday
Two Johnson County, Tennessee men were back in court Friday.
Jamie Curd and Marvin Potter are facing first degree murder and felony murder charges. They're accused of killing Billy Payne, Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth back in January at a home in the Doe Valley community in the presence of the couple's baby. Click here for more on that story.
In a series of motions, Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood ruled Potter will stay at the Johnson County Jail after a request to be transferred to the Tennessee Department of Corrections because of health concerns.
The judge also denied a defense request to make no mention of the victims' baby during trial. However, we learned Judge Blackwood still has to rule on which pieces of evidence the jury can see related to the child.
Much of Friday's hearing focused on the defense's motion to suppress the search and inventory of Curd's car.
That hearing will be continued in February, along with motions to suppress statements made by both Potter and Curd.
