'Batman' keeps troops safe in Afghanistan
Soldier-turned-superhero star of new series of PSAs
A soldier-turned-superhero named "Bagram Batman" is helping keep Army troops safe in Afghanistan.
The caped crusader is the star of a new series of PSAs put out by the U.S. Army and AFN Afghanistan showing how everyday trivialities can become deadly mistakes in a hostile environment.
He's even got his own Facebook page and Twitter feed.
"Bagram Batman may not be the hero the men and women of Afghanistan need.... But it’s the one they get. Veiled under a cloak of valor, Bagram Batman battles idiocracy, mediocrity, complacency and poor table manners!" his Facebook page reads.
Each of the 30-second clips features Bagram Batman swooping in to educate a soldier about avoiding a potentially dangerous situation, according to the International Business Times.
In "The Bagram Batman vs. Headphones Guy" video, Batman warns a Taylor Swift fan about the dangers of wearing headphones while running on base.
"Where is your weapon?" he roars in another video, attempting to mimic the voice of Christian Bale.
At the end of each clip, he yells in a gravelly voice, "Swear to me!"
