The tales from press who were aboard Rihanna's tour jet for the past seven days have ranged from hilarious to distraught to some combination of both.

Rihanna herself, who couldn't have been completely unaware of the response to her 777 tour, made an apology to those who were along for her seven-day, seven-country, seven-city promotional ride when she landed back in the States Tuesday.

If you still haven't caught wind of the frustrated and forlorn updates from the "Rihanna plane," as it quickly became known, members of the press were frequently lamenting the inability to sleep, go outside, go to the bathroom, work with any ease or even have a drink of water. Worse still, the all-access that they were expecting was non-existent as Rihanna was barely around. (It got to the point that mock "Missing" flyers were created.)

But according to Us Weekly, whose editor Ian Drew was aboard the plane of pain, the singer isn't as "Unapologetic" as her new album's title makes her sound.

"I know you guys got barely any dirt," she said. "But I had to be good. I still sound like s***. It's impossible to spend time with everybody, and I'm sorry I didn't. But this was excellent and I would definitely do it again."

But Rihanna made press crews wait once again later that night in New York at her album release event in Manhattan. The Wall Street Journal chronicles waiting for "some two hours" before the pop princess made her appearance, but perhaps she was already celebrating her 12th No. 1 and was delayed.

According to Billboard, the "Diamonds" single from "Unapologetic," which is Rihanna's seventh studio album in seven years, has landed atop the Hot 100, overpowering Maroon 5's "One More Night."

"Diamonds" is one of 14 tracks on the recently released record, whose title is one of Rihanna's favorite words because "it sums it all up," the singer told press Tuesday night in Manhattan.

"The reason the album is called 'Unapologetic' is because it's the truth," she continued, "and there's only so much you can put into 14 songs."
