Dave grew up in Iowa and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in meteorology.While in college, he worked as a meteorologist for WOI-TV in Ames/Des Moines, Iowa, and following college, he worked for KCCI-TV in Des Moines until he joined WCYB as Chief Meteorologist in 1987Dave is the spokesman for the Tri-Cities Alzheimer’s Association, and he enjoys working with the annual Southwest Virginia Special Olympics.Dave met his wife Natalie at WCYB, and they have two children: son Austin, and daughter Taylor.
