Today: Gradually decreasing clouds. Chilly. Highs 39-45. West wind 10 mph or less.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 20s. Light wind.
Friday: Becoming mostly cloudy. Slight chance of a shower in the afternoon. Highs 46-51. West wind 10 mph or less.
Weather Summary:
We are tracking an area of high pressure that will move into the region today. Some sunshine is expected to return, and continue into part of Friday. A stray shower is possible Friday afternoon ahead of our next storm system. Slightly below normal temperatures are expected both days with highs in the low to mid 40s today and near 50 on Friday. Lows will drop into the 20s.
We are also tracking a cold front that is forecast to sweep through the southern Appalachian region Friday night/Saturday morning. A few rain/snow showers or flurries will likely accompany this front. This will set the stage for a partly cloudy and chilly weekend. Highs this weekend will only reach the 30s to around 40. Lows will drop into the teens Saturday and Sunday nights. Partly cloudy and cool conditions will continue on Monday. Another chance of rain and mountain snow showers develops Tuesday. Lows in the 20s and highs near 50.
