WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. -

Local vendors were showcasing everything from hand-spun yarn to fresh from the ground veggies at the Abingdon Farmers Market Saturday.

This was the official opening day to the season. News 5 caught up with two shoppers that enjoy supporting local vendors. "I feel like there's a lot more here then last year. I feel like that's a good sign that it's kind of taking hold and growing in popularity. People are really coming out and experiencing something new," said Jenny Nichols.

If you missed Saturday's market, no need to worry, vendors will be back out on Tuesday from 3 to 6 pm.
