Dave grew up in Iowa and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in meteorology. While in college, he worked as a meteorologist for WOI-TV in Ames/Des Moines, Iowa, and following college, he worked for KCCI-TV in Des Moines until he joined WCYB as Chief Meteorologist in 1987. Dave is a regular speaker in classrooms all over the region. Kids enjoy his presentations about weather and forecasting, so he is often asked to return again and again. Dave is the spokesman for the Tri-Cities Alzheimer’s Association, and he enjoys working with the annual Southwest Virginia Special Olympics. Dave met his wife Natalie at WCYB, and they have two children...son Austin, and daughter Taylor.
