MORE INFO

Just southwest of the Tri-Cities is historic Greeneville, Tennessee, hometown of Andrew Johnson, the 17th president of the United States.

His image and likeness can be found all over town, but the best place to learn his story is at the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, right downtown.

Johnson came to Greeneville as a run away teenage endentured tailor, establishing a business, teaching himself to read and write, and getting involved in local politics that lead him to the White House.

Within walking distance you can see and learn about his life, the places he and his family lived and the history of this remarkable man.

A small town with deep historical roots and a sense of bringing folks together and it's less than a tank of gas away.
