One college student is dead and another injured after an apparent hunting accident in Southern Virginia.
Police say the students were walking in the woods near Ferrum College's campus when they were struck by the stray bullet. The female student was hit in the chest and died at the scene, the male student, who had his arm around her, was struck in the hand and is recovering at a hospital.
Police have charged the hunter with manslaughter, reckless handling of a firearm, and trespassing on county property.
