Burglar Allegedly Caught in the Act

A Washington County, Tennessee man has been arrested on two counts of Aggravated Burglary.

According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Robert G. Davenport Jr., 32 of 4515 Cherokee Road in Jonesborough, was charged with two counts of Aggravated Burglary.  At approximately 6:14pm last night a homeowner on Archer Road filed a complaint with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an unknown person making entry into his residence, stealing the keys to his four wheeler and a riding lawn mower.

At approximately 9:15pm the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division got called back to the same home on a report of a burglary in progress.  Upon their arrival, officers discovered that the homeowner had caught the thief in the process of stealing his four-wheeler from his basement.  The suspect, Robert Davenport, was arrested and charged at that time.

Davenport is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.  His arraignment was scheduled for November 17 in Washington County Session’s Court.
