Reduction Of Red Light Camera Fines Face Opposition

There appears to be opposition in the community about the idea of lowering the price of running a red light in Kingsport. The Board of Mayor and Alderman was considering reducing the fines for people caught by red light cameras.  Right now it costs $100.  The idea about lowering the fine came up because the contract is about to end with the company that operates the cameras.  Nearly 15,000 red light camera tickets have been issued in Kingsport so far this year.
